Note: Subscriptions to Schoot are at school level - in other words, individuals are not able to subscribe to Schoot.
To set up your school's Schoot subscription, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to www.schoot.co.uk
On the home page, select the "Get Started" button (there are two - one in the middle of the page and one in the top right hand corner next to Login).
Step 2: Start subscription process
You should now see the following page:
The right hand side of the page concerns creating the new subscription. Read the text under 'Establish your school membership' and click the large green button underneath that to start the process. You are not committed at this stage.
Step 3: School details
At the next screen you will be asked to find your school from our database. To do that, click on the drop-down underneath 'Please enter your school's name or premises registration number'
In the following example, we have typed 'St Mary' and the system has presented the list of schools with "St Mary" in the name for us to choose from. Start to type your school name or your PRN (if you know it)
If you cannot find your school, please click on 'Contact support' on the bottom of the page and then click 'New Support Ticket' and one of our team will be in touch to help as soon as we can.
If you have been able to locate your school, please then select the option that best reflects the number of pupils at your school (note this should include nursery and sixth form pupil numbers):
Step 4: Pricing and payment options
You should now see something similar to:
On this screen you can select the number of licenses you require for Schoot. Individual user of Schoot (teachers, governors etc) will each require their own sole use of a license, so you need to calculate how many in total you will need. You will be able to add licenses to your subscription at a later date.
Note that there is a minimum number if licenses based on your school size. In this example, the minimum is 30. You can use the green buttons to increase or decrease the amount of licenses you would require (but you won't be able to go less than the minimum for your school size). There is also a minimum subscription term of 12-months which auto-renews unless you cancel before the end of the current subscription term.
Note also that as you change the number of licenses required the figure in blue text changes. This figure is the total monthly fee for the number of users you have selected. Underneath this figure, you will also note the price per user per month. This price decreases the more licenses you commit to.
Payment options
Select the appropriate payment option for you. The most cost effective is to pay monthly by direct debit as that offers a 5% discount.
Voucher codes
If you have been given a voucher code, you can add it here. Type in the voucher code and click 'Apply'. If you do not have a voucher code, then please ignore this field.
Terms and Conditions
Review the terms and conditions. You must agree to the terms and conditions before continuing. When you are ready, select 'Continue'.
Step 5: Confirming your email address
To ensure we have your correct contact details you will need to confirm your email address. To do that, enter your email address (we suggest we use your email address given to you by the school but you can use a personal one if preferred), and click 'click here and we will email you a code'. Note that the email address you add here will be the email address associated with your account for logging-in purposes and for notifications from time to time regarding Schoot.
You should then receive (usually less than a minute) an email in your mailbox for the email address you have provided. The email will have a subject of 'Your Schoot Verification Code'. If it doesn't turn up, check your junk or spam folder. If you still don't receive the code, please contact us using the "contact support" button at the bottom of the webpage.
In the email will be a confirmation code that you will need to enter into the field that will have appeared. If the code is correct - we know it's you and we have established comms!
Step 6: Confirm your details
On this screen you will need to confirm your schools address. We have part-completed this for your from our database. Please amend as necessary.
Add in your first name and last name and enter a password for your Schoot account. Note that the password needs to meet the minimum requirements as stated on screen.
When done, click the Continue button.
Step 7: Payment
To complete your commitment to Schoot you need to complete your payment details. The screens that follow will depend on your preferred payment method (direct debit, credit card, manual invoice).
Follow the on-screen instructions. If you have chosen direct debit or credit card, your account will be activated as soon as your payment method is confirmed. If you have selected invoice then there is a manual step required for us to collect payment before we make your Schoot subscription active.
